ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH (EKG) TECHNICIAN COURSE

Description:
The recording of electrocardiograms is the fulcrum of the course as the student gains practical knowledge in obtaining reliable and detailed results correlating with vital signs and the administration of injections and CPR.

Objectives:
The accelerated course is to prepare students in obtaining an EKG Certification (through NAHP). Students will also be exposed to medical terminology related to the field, vital signs, injections, and will have the opportunity to sit for the CPR Certification. The program is Pass / Fail; students must complete the 48-hour course with a cumulative grade of 65% or higher to be allowed to sit for the EKG and CPR certification exams. The representative job title for which the graduate would be qualified is Nationally Registered Certified EKG Technician AFTER taking AND passing National Association for Health Professionals' Nationally Registered Certified EKG exam.
