CAMPUS SAFETY
AND
SECURITY SURVEY
When deemed appropriate, the institution will notify the proper police department to begin legal proceedings against the violator. Any/all violators will be prosecuted under the local ordinances and/or state law that apply.
In addition, such violators may be suspended from attending classes, or even terminated as a student. A suspension in excess of three days may subject the student to termination in accordance with the attendance provision of their financial aid agreement.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND
EVACUATION PROCEDURES
In the event of an emergency event (i.e., gas leaks, tornadoes, contagious viruses, terror alert, etc.) the Administrative staff will be responsible for confirming the threat and notifying students and faculty. Due to the size of the campus this can be done by the PA system, administrative staff and the local Tornado/National Security Threat System. Emergency evacuation procedures will be issued to all students during the orientation meeting and will also be posted on the student’s information boards. In addition, posted in each classroom is the exact evacuation procedure from that room to a safe area.

The annual security report provides information regarding campus security policies and campus crime statistics. The Higher Education Act (HEA), as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), specifies new campus safety requirements in the following areas: hate crime reporting and emergency response and evacuation procedures-required of all Title IV institutions, and missing student notification and fire safety issues-required of any Title IV institution that maintains an on-campus housing facility. These disclosures are required beginning with the October 1, 2010 Campus Safety and Security Survey, and then annual updates.
